Now City Tom Mboya Street Matatu free – Weekly Citizen

A special police unit has been formed to ensure that Public Service Vehicles are blocked from operating along busy Tom Mboya Street in Nairobi.

Statement from County Police Commander confirmed that 20 police officers have been deployed to ensure implementation of the county government decision to ban PSV vehicles from picking ad dropping passengers along Tom Mboya Street.

Nairobi City County Directive to make Tom Mboya Matatu free

Communication from the parking services director Tom Tinega further indicates the vehicles are only allowed to operate at gazetted points to clear the road of frequent day-long traffic jams.

Matatus operators to be affected by the directive include those that ferry commuters s to Kikuty, Kinoo, Gachie, Kiambu, Westlands, Eastleigh, Buruburu

Tinega said that those who go against the directive will have their license withdrawn.
